HC Deb 06 May 1901 vol 93 c767
MR. DILLON

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether an obstruction to the flow of water from the water wheel of the Galway woollen mill has been pointed out to the engineer of the Board of Works; whether this obstruction is due to the neglect of the Lough Corrib Drainage Trustees; and can he explain why the Board of Works has not caused the obstruction to be removed.

THE CHIEF SECRETARY FOR IRELAND (Mr. WYNDHAM, Dover)

The obstruction has been allowed to remain in order to support the retaining wall, which is alleged to be defective. The maintenance of this wall rests in the Drainage Trustees, who have undertaken to repair it. The Board of Works will see that such repairs are carried out.
