This site has been produced from digitised editions of Commons and Lords Hansard, the Official Report of debates in Parliament. This was part of a project led by the Commons and Lords libraries.

There's the Hansard text itself by volume, Lords sittings, Commons sittings and Westminster Hall sittings as well as Written Answers, Written Statements, Lords reports and Grand Committee reports. This site also includes extracted lists of People who are recorded as having spoken, Constituencies, Offices, Acts, Bills and Divisions.

UPDATE 6/7/2018 hansard.parliament.uk is now serving the same Historic Hansard content as this site. It also provides a similar search experience to the one previously avilable at hansard.millbanksystems.com

UPDATE 2/5/2018 The Parliamentary Digital Service are going to launch a new Historic Hansard service on hansard.parliament.uk. Our contract with the company who hosted hansard.millbanksystems.com ended in March. We recreated the hansard.millbanksystems.com service as a stopgap before content is available on hansard.parliament.uk

The service we have now is not going to be a permanent solution to serving historic Hansard content. We were unable to recreate the old search. We are working to improve the search experience we have as much as possible in the interim.

When we have dates for the data being available on hansard.parliament.uk we’ll update this page. In the meantime we are happy for you to direct any queries you have about the new search to data@parliament.uk where we will provide help and advice.

UPDATE 5/4/2018 On the 3rd of April this site was moved to a new platform. We are in the process of replacing the old search function. Indexing all the material will take time. In the interim we have redirected to Google site search, using site:hansard.millbanksystems.com before your search terms. When you click on any results you will be taken to that content as before. We're sorry for any inconvenience.
