HC Deb 05 December 1950 vol 482 c190
34. General Sir George Jeffreys

asked the Secretary of State for War why the rate of additional pension payable to West Indian holders of the Distinguished Conduct Medal is 3d. per day as compared with 6d. per day payable to European holders of the medal; and whether he will cause the same additional daily payment to be given to all holders of the Distinguished Conduct Medal whether European or non-European.

Mr. Strachey

I am obliged to the hon. and gallant Member for pointing out this anomaly. I am taking steps to secure an amendment to the Pay Warrant to allow 6d. a day to non-European holders of the medal under War Office jurisdiction.
