asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much revenue he expects to obtain per head of the population in respect of all new liquor taxation, including licence duties, under his present Budget proposals, from England, Scotland, and Ireland respectively?

The contribution per head of population to the additional revenue expected to be derived from the increased duties upon spirits and liquor licences in 1909–10 is estimated as follows:—

Scotland 1 10¼ per head.
Ireland 1 2 per head.
