HC Deb 10 May 1909 vol 4 cc1447-8
Mr. HOGAN

asked whether, in determining the limits of the advance to be made to any purchaser under the Land Purchase Act of 1903, regard was had to the amount of land elsewhere held, in fee simple or otherwise, by the purchaser in question or by his immediate relatives?

Mr. CHERRY

The Land Purchase Acts do not require that in determining the limits of an advance to be made to a pur- chaser under the Act of 1903 regard shall be had to the amount of land held by him elsewhere, but they impose limitations on the amount which may be advanced to any one purchaser.

Mr. HOGAN

If I supply the right hon. Gentleman with particulars will he see if something can be done to stop what is now going on?

Mr. CHERRY

I cannot say whether anything can be done to stop it until I know whether anything illegal has taken place. Of course I will carefully consider any representations the hon. Member may make.
