HC Deb 30 March 1909 vol 3 c184
Lord BALCARRES (on behalf of Mr. Claude Hay)

asked the Secretary of State for War if he will state where the preserved meat, represented in £39,543, given in Command Paper, 10, as supplied to his Department, was prepared; and whether it was supplied by a British firm or a firm representing a foreign firm?

Mr. HALDANE

The preserved meat in question was prepared partly, in the United States of America and partly in the Argentine. In the former case the firm accepted have a branch in London; in the latter case supply was made through agents in London.
