HC Deb 28 June 1909 vol 7 c30
Mr. VINCENT KENNEDY

asked whether the Estates Commissioners have made any arrangements to deal with the restoration of Mrs. Mary Lynch, who was evicted from a farm at Kilnaleck, county Cavan, on the estate of the late John Sheridan, of Macetown, county Meath; and how many evicted tenants have been reinstated in county Cavan since 1st October, 1908, and how many still await reinstating?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners have decided to take no action in reference to Mrs. Lynch's application for reinstatement in a holding of 13 acres now occupied by another tenant. They inform me that 22 Cavan evicted tenants have been reinstated or provided with holdings since 1st October last.

Mr. VINCENT KENNEDY

When will the balance of the evicted tenants be reinstated?

Mr. BIRRELL

I am afraid it would be impossible to give that information.

Mr. KENNEDY

Will the right hon. Gentleman let me have the names of those whom it is intended to reinstate?

Mr. BIRRELL

No; I do not think that is in accordance with the rules laid down by the Estates Commissioners.
