HC Deb 26 July 1909 vol 8 c835
Mr. MILDMAY

asked the First Lord or the Admiralty whether it is intended that the coastguard station at Lannacomne, South Devon, shall be abolished; and whether, in deciding the question, he will take into consideration that this coast is often a dangerous one for fishermen resident in the neighbourhood, and that the coastguard men are able frequently to render efficient service to those sailing on these coasts?

The FIRST LORD of the ADMIRALTY (Mr. McKENNA)

The Coast Guard Detachment at Lannacomne was closed on the 1st February, 1909, and its duties transferred to the neighbouring stations of Hallsands and Prawle Point.

Mr. MILDMAY

How are the buildings going to be disposed of?

Mr. McKENNA

I am unable to say.
