§ Sir HENRY COTTONasked the Under-Secretary for the Colonies whether he was aware that the Ceylon Legislative Council, which was established on a basis of nomination as long ago as 1975 1833, had not been modified since except by the addition of two nominated members in 1889; whether he had received a number of memorials from representative bodies and associations praying for the reconstruction of the Council on an enlarged and elective basis; and whether His Majesty's Government proposed to take any action in this matter?
