HC Deb 10 November 1908 vol 196 c40
SIR GILBERT PARKER

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if the Belgian Government have given definite guarantees to do away with the forced collection of natural produce by the natives for the purpose of raising revenue.

SIR EDWARD GREY

No further guarantees beyond those contained in the papers already presented to Parliament have been received from the Belgian Government respecting forced labour. The subject is still under discussion with them.
