HC Deb 07 May 1908 vol 188 c434
MR. COURTHOPE

I beg to ask the Postmaster-General whether Post Office servants performing extra work at night receive the same allowances, in the shape of extra pay and extra time off duty, as those doing similar extra work by day; and, if not, for what reason this differentiation is made.

MR. SYDNEY BUXTON

No difference is made except that seven hours duty by night (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.) is treated as equivalent to eight hours duty by day.
