HC Deb 26 March 1908 vol 186 c1551
MR. LAMBTON (Durham, S.E.)

To ask the Postmaster-General if he is aware of the inconvenience caused to the inhabitants and shipping trade of Seaham Harbour by the refusal of the Post Office to provide facilities for despatch of letters from that town after 8.15 p.m.; and whether he can arrange that one pillar-box in a central position shall be cleared as late as possible.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) Under existing arrangements letters may be posted in the letter box at the Seaham Colliery station up to 10.25 p.m. for despatch to Sunderland the same night. I regret that the cost of providing further facilities would not be justified.
