HC Deb 26 March 1908 vol 186 cc1551-2
MR. COURTHOPE (Sussex, Rye)

To ask the President of the Local Government Board whether, in the case of the sanitary authorities of popular seaside and health resorts who have applied for orders under the Public Health Act, 1907, he will issue such orders without delay, in order that the sanitary authorities in question may secure the advantages of the Act before the summer season commences.

(Answered by Mr. John Burns.) I am desirous that the several cases should be dealt with as early as practicable, and I will bear in mind the point to which the hon. Member refers; but the preliminary investigations necessary in each individual case, as well as the statutory requirements which have to be complied with, make it impossible to issue the orders with great rapidity.
