I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland what is the total purchase price and total cost of improvements of all estates purchased by the Congested Districts Board before the passing of the Act of 1903 for all congested Ireland, and for congested Kerry, respectively; and what are the corresponding figures since the passing of the Act of 1903.

The total purchase price of estates bought by the Congested Districts Board prior to the Act of 1903 is, in congested districts generally, £557,685; and in county Kerry, £3,893. The total cost of improvement works on those estates is, in congested districts generally, £181,823, and in County Kerry, £161. The total purchase price of estates bought by the Congested Districts Board since the Act of 1903 is, in congested districts generally, £1,417,432, and in County Kerry, £143,132. The total cost of improvement works on those estates is, in congested districts generally, £274,668; and in County Kerry. £19,449.
