§ MR. CHARLES CRAIGI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland what is the number of 1654 recruits at present undergoing training at the Royal Irish Constabulary Depot in Dublin; and whether orders have been issued for the immediate enrolment of 180 additional recruits; and, if so, what is the necessity for so materially increasing the number of the police force in Ireland.
§ MR. BIRRELLThe number of recruits at present in training is 320. No orders have been issued for the enrolment of recruits beyond the number required to fill vacancies caused by the ordinary wastage of the force.
