HC Deb 18 March 1907 vol 171 c442
MAJOR COATES

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland what sum is included in the Estimates of 1907–8 for travelling expenses of the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland; and under what item this sum will be voted.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) If the hon. Member will refer to the Estimates for the coming financial year now before Parliament, he will find in the Estimate for the Chief Secretary's Office, under Sub-head B (Pages 201 and 203), the proposed provision for travelling expenses of the staff generally, with the details of such provision. No separate provision is made for the Chief Secretary's travelling expenses. Both the Chief Secretary and his Private Secretary pay their own travelling expenses between London and Dublin.
