HC Deb 18 March 1907 vol 171 c446
MR. KENDAL O'BRIEN (Tipperary, Mid.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he can say whether the Estates Commissioners have taken any action to purchase from the landlord, Mr. James Lloyd, his grazing land, containing about 1,000 acres, which are situate at Longford, in the parish of Bourney, near Roscrea, in the county of Tipperary, so that they may parcel them up into small holdings in accordance with the provisions of The Land Act, 1903.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Estates Commissioners inform me that in November last Mr. Lloyd was approached, through his solicitors, who replied that Mr. Lloyd farmed his untenanted land and was not prepared to dispose of it to the Commissioners.
