§ MR. REESTo ask the Secretary of State for India whether any information is available regarding the cost of manufacturing of synthetic indigo which can be placed at the disposal of indigo growers in India.

I understand that the two or three companies which manufacture synthetic indigo among other dyes do not publish their accounts in a form that would enable the information desired by my hon. friend to be extracted from them. I will cause further inquiries to be made, and if any authoritative information can be obtained I will see that it is placed at the disposal of indigo growers in India.
