§ MR. MEYSEY-THOMPSONI beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether he will state the number of coastguard stations that have been closed since the commencement of this year, and the number of men who have been reduced or dismissed in consequence of the closing of these coastguard stations.
§ *MR. LAMBERTThree stations and seven detachments have been closed since the commencement of the year. Those changes affected thirty-two men, who have all been transferred to fill vacancies at other stations caused by normal wastage. No men have been dismissed in consequence of the closing of any coastguard stations.
§ MAJOR SEELY (Liverpool, Abercromby)Which are the three stations that have been closed, in view of the promise given by the Secretary to the Admiralty that no station should be closed until the question had been fully discussed in this House?
