§ MR. SYDNEY BUXTONI regret the delay which has occurred but which was unavoidable, and I hope shortly to be in a position to make an announcement on the subject.

§ MR. SYDNEY BUXTON pointed out that the matter was full of difficulties, as there was no recognised rate of wages in the trade.
§ MR. PICKERSGILLBut does not the County Council pay the same rates as are claimed by the London Carmen's Union?
§ MR. SYDNEY BUXTONThe whole matter is under consideration. I am endeavouring to get the fullest possible information as to what rate of wages is paid, both from employers and from the Board of Trade, and I hope very shortly to be able to come to a decision.
