HC Deb 20 February 1907 vol 169 c842
MR. WHITEHEAD (Essex, S.E.)

I beg to ask the Postmaster-General whether his attention has been drawn to the dismissal at Grays post office of three telegraph boys for accepting Christmas boxes: whether he is aware that they deny having solicited these gifts or otherwise broken the regulations and whether he can see his way to reinstate them in the service.

The POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Mr. Sydney Buxton, Tower Hamlets, Poplar)

These boys were dismissed for collecting Christmas boxes. They admitted that they solicited these gifts, and that they knew that they were breaking a rule of the service, and rendering themselves liable to dismissal.
