HC Deb 26 August 1907 vol 182 cc167-8
LORD R, CECIL (Marylebone, E.)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Education whether his attention has been called to the fact that a temporary school has been recently opened to relieve the overcrowding of Penmachno non-provided school; that His Majesty's inspector reported that it was essential that a certificated teacher should be employed to take charge of this school; that after eleven months such a teacher has been procured, and that the local education authority now decline to confirm his appointment; and what steps the Board of Education propose to take in the matter.

MR. McKENNA

I understand that a teacher, though not a certificated teacher, is employed at present in the temporary building. I am in communication with the inspector and the local education authority as to the advisability or other- wise of replacing him by a certificated teacher.
