HC Deb 26 August 1907 vol 182 cc126-7
CAPTAIN CRAIG (Down, E.)

To ask the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that during the past three weeks, with very few exceptions, English letters have not reached Downpatrick, county Down, until the train arriving at 11.38 a.m. and on many occasions by the train arriving at 2.55 p.m., which causes inconvenience to business and professional men in the town; and that, prior to the period mentioned, English letters were regularly delivered in Downpatrick at 11 a.m., travelling by the train leaving Belfast at 9.35 a.m.; and if he will explain the reason of the present delay, and take steps to have it remedied.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) I have called for a Report on this subject, and on its receipt I will send the hon. Member a reply.
