§ MR. FIELDTo ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether the dockyard accounts, the Admiralty accounts, the War Office accounts, the English and Scottish education accounts, the Post Office and other accounts are all audited by permanent local staffs at each of the various offices, while the Irish public accounts, with the exception of some slight local tests by a few men extending over only a very short period in Ireland, are all audited in London; and, if so, seeing that this audit of all the Irish public accounts in London means much duplication of work, will he explain why all such audit is not done in Dublin by adopting the same system of permanent local audit and supervision as obtains in the case of Devonport Dockyard and other accounts.
