HC Deb 05 August 1907 vol 179 c1517
MAJOR ANSTRUTHER-GRAY (St. Andrews Burghs)

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the progress made by Foreign Powers in the solution of the problems of aerial flight, he will consider the desirability of increasing the grant for research on this subject.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) The importance of this subject is recognised and experiments are in progress. It is not considered necessary or desirable to increase the grant of money available this year for this subject. My advisers and I are fully aware of the nature of the work that is being done elsewhere.
