To ask the Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the increasing numbers of motor vehicles, and the consequent decrease of horses, he can state definitely that necessary steps have been taken to secure that sufficient horses will be forthcoming for military purposes in case of war.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) Will the hon. and gallant Member kindly refer to a reply given to a Question on this subject put by the hon. Member for the Oswestry Division of Shropshire on the 10th June, to which I have nothing to add. †
