HC Deb 12 March 1906 vol 153 c932
MR. MUNRO FERGUSON (Leith Burghs)

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether, with a view to bringing Scottish Central Boards and Commissioners into closer touch with public opinion and requirements, he will hold a departmental inquiry to report on the modifications in the existing system that may be necessary to secure for such authorities a measure of efficiency and of co-ordination corresponding to their increasing responsibilities.

THE SECRETARY FOR SCOTLAND (Mr. SINCLAIR,) Forfarshire

The proposal of the hon. Gentleman shall be borne in mind, and I appreciate its purpose, but I cannot at the present time give any undertaking in regard to it.
