HC Deb 27 June 1906 vol 159 cc917-8
MR. FIELD

To ask the President of the Board of Trade whether he can state what steps the Government intend to take respecting the action of the trustees and the governing bodies of insurance companies for the protection of their policy holders.

(Answered by Mr. Lloyd-George.) The Life Assurance Companies Acts do not give the Board of Trade any powers with regard to the trustees or governing bodies of insurance companies, and, as at present advised, I have no intention of initiating fresh legislation for the purpose.
