HC Deb 25 June 1906 vol 159 c620
MR. PIKE PEASE

To ask the President of the Board of Education whether he can make any statement as to how far the suggested repeal of the Education Act of 1870 would affect the position of diocesan inspectors.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Board of Education have no relations with diocesan inspectors. The latter are not officials of any education authorities. It is, therefore, impossible for me to say how the position of such persons will be affected, if at all, by the Education Bill, or by the repeal of the few clauses of The Education Act, 1870, that are affected by the Bill.
