PATRICK WHITE (Meath, N.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether and upon what date an inspector from the office of the Estates Commissioners visited a farm from which a tenant named Gore was evicted, situate at Mount Iress, Rathkenny, Slane, county Meath, the property of Mr. Balfour, Townley Hall, Drogheda; if he has yet made his report; and what was the cause of the delay.
MR. BRYCEThe Estates Commissioners inform me that they have received an application for reinstatement from James Gore, and have referred it, with others of a similar nature, to an inspector for inquiry and report. The inspector's report has not yet been received, and the Commissioners are not aware whether the farm has yet been visited by him. The delay is due to the fact that a very large number of these applications have to be inquired into.
