HC Deb 23 June 1905 vol 147 c1437
MR. NANNETTI (Dublin, College Green)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that certain assistant clerks serving in the National Education Office, Dublin, were, under the terms of Clause 15 of the Order in Council of the 29th November, 1898, recommended by the heads of their department for promotion to the second division in November, 1903, and whether, having regard to the anxiety of these officers as to the recommendations made on their behalf and the fact that some of them have been studying for the qualifying examination, he will have the matter looked into with a view to having the recommendations submitted to the Treasury.

(Answered by Mr. Waller Long.) The proposals mentioned were transmitted to the Treasury, but the Irish Government did not feel able to recommend them for adoption.
