HC Deb 10 August 1905 vol 151 cc935-6
MR. FLYNN (Cork, N.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that Mr. Denis O'Hanlon, a farmer of Glynn, South Banteer, county Cork, was refused a licence for a gun to protect his crops; will he say whether the local constabulary sergeant reported to the magistrate adversely to the application, and, if so, why he did so; and whether, in view of the injury caused to his crops by crows and other birds, the constabulary authorities will support this man's application for a gun licence.

(Answered by Mr. Walter Long.) It is not the fact that a licence has been refused in this case. Mr. O'Hanlon's application is under consideration, and the result will be communicated to him in due course.
