HC Deb 09 August 1905 vol 151 c792
SIR F. DIXON-HARTLAND (Middlesex, Uxbridge)

To ask the President of the Local Government Board if his attention has been drawn to the pollution of the River Thames by oil from the works of the Metropolitan Water Board at Hampton, and the statement of the Thames Conservancy that they had no power to prevent it; and will he say whether he will take steps, by legislation or otherwise, to put a stop to this state of affairs.

(Answered by Mr. Gerald Balfour.) My attention has not been previously drawn to this matter, but I will make inquiry with regard to it.
