I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether the Local Government Board for Scotland are aware that the water supply for the village of Lochcarron, Ross-shire, is in a defective condition; and will such steps be taken as may be necessary to remedy the defect.

The Local Government Board have observed the reference in the recent annual report of the county sanitary inspector to the effect that the water supply for the village of Lochcarron. Ross-shire, is in a defective condition, and the matter will be dealt with in accordance with the Board's usual practice as soon as they have received the county medical officer's report.
