HC Deb 02 May 1904 vol 134 c125
MR. GILHOOLY (Cork County, W.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether his attention has been called to the condition of the beacon at the entrance to Baltimore Harbour; and whether he will request the Irish Lights Commissioners to remedy any defect in connection with it.

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

My attention has not hitherto been called to the condition of the beacon in question. The Commissioners of Irish Lights inform me that it was whitewashed in 1900 and that arrangements have been made for whitewashing it again this year. If the hon. Member will place me in possession of any information he may have regarding alleged defects in the beacon I shall be happy to communicate it to the Commissioners.
