WILLIAM McKILLOP (Sligo, N.)I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether his attention has been called to the proceedings of the magistrates of Dundee on the 10th March, when they agreed to recommend the licence holders to close their premises on Monday, 11th April next, and also recommended certain rules to be followed with reference to plan* of licensed premises lodged with the clerk; whether, in view of the restrictions contained in the recent Scottish Licensing Act, he will, by communication with the magistrates or otherwise, take steps to have such recommendations withdrawn and to prevent similar recommendations being issued in future.

But as the operation of the Act transferring powers to the new authorities comes into force in Dundee on the second Tuesday of next month, I do not think it advisable in the meantime to take any action in the matter.
