§ MR. SLOANTo ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he can state the number of superior officers, county inspectors, serving in the Royal Irish Constabulary, who have reached the age of sixty and are entitled to pension; under what circumstances is their service retained; and will he, in the interest of the public service, cause inquiries to be made, with a view to their compulsory retirement.
(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) Four county inspectors. They have not yet completed the pensionable period of service entitling them to full retiring allowance, and the Inspector-General is not aware of any reason why they should at present retire.
