§ MR. DELANY (Queen's County, Ossory)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether an application has been received by the Estates Commissioners on behalf of the evicted tenants upon the Adair (Mountmellick) Estate, Queen's County; and, if so, whether, in view of the fact that this estate has been sold to tbe tenants under the Ashbourne Act, he will state what steps it is proposed to take with reference-to the evicted tenants upon the property who have not been restored to their holdings or otherwise provided for.
§ MR. WYNDHAMThree such applications have been received. Should the Commissioners have an opportunity of acquiring untenanted land in the neighbourhood, the claims of the applicants will be considered.
In reply to a further Question, Mr. WYNDHAM said he did not pretend to have personal knowledge of all these estates, 68 but he had every confidence in the Estates Commissioners.
