To ask the Secretary of State for War whether he can state the total numerical strength of the following Volunteer forces, respec- tively, who went to South Africa, namely, one battery of Artillery and thirty-eight sections Royal Engineers.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Arnold-Forster.) The strength of this battery was 243, and the total strength of the thirty-eight sections of Royal Engineers was 1,207.
