HC Deb 13 June 1904 vol 135 c1493
MR. MURPHY (Kerry, E.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that the estate of John C. D. Hurley, near Killarney, was under the control of the Land Judge's Court in Ireland, and a sale effected to a majority of the tenants a few years ago under an order of the Court, and that the farms occupied by Jeremiah Sheehan, Eugene M'Carthy, Patrick Lyne, Michael Mahony, and Thomas Talbot have not yet been sold to the tenants owing to the conditions sought to be imposed as to turbary rights; and, if so, will he take steps to effect a sale in these cases.

MR. WYNDHAM

In the case of this estate, the Estates Commissioners have issued a request to the Land Judge with a view to purchase under the 7th Section of the Act of 1903. The Commissioners will make an offer for purchase as soon as the necessary undertakings have been signed by the tenants. The offer will include the turbary, which will be divided among the tenants in accordance with the suggestions of the inspector.
