HC Deb 13 June 1904 vol 135 cc1492-3
MR. T. W. RUSSELL (Tyrone, S.)

On behalf of the hon. Member for North Fermanagh, I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he will consider the advisability of including the Lough Erne drainage charges within the scope of inquiry about to be made in regard to Trinity College rents, having regard to the fact that many landlords whose lands adjoin Lough Erne have such heavy drainage charges to pay that they cannot sell on favourable terms to their tenants.

MR. WYNDHAM

I am unable to say that an investigation of the matters referred to would come within the scope of inquiry by the Commission which has been appointed by the Lord-Lieutenant. It will be for the Commissioners to determine this point. The terms of reference have already been announced, and I am not prepared to enlarge them.
