HC Deb 13 March 1903 vol 119 c731
MR. BRIGG (Yorkshire, W.R., Keighley)

To ask the First Lord of the Treasury if he will, with a view to lessening the work of Private Committees and to diminish the cost of promoting Private Bills, introduce legislation in order to bring up to date the General Public Health Legislation of England and Wales, in accordance with the recommendation No. 28 in the Report of the Select Committee on Private Business.

(Answered by Mr. A. J. Balfour.) As I informed the hon. Member for Rushcliffe this week,† the question of what steps should be taken in connection with the recommendations of the Select Committee on Private Business is one which must be deferred until the Government have had an opportunity of consulting the Chairman of Committees upon his return to the House.
