HERBERT SAMUELI beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether the inquiry now proceeding into the fiscal policy is solely, or is chiefly, for the purpose of obtaining statistical information; whether any investigation is being made into the extent to which the success of American and German manufacturers is due to the excellence of the machinery and industrial methods employed; and, if so, whether the results of such investigation will be laid before the House.
