HC Deb 07 April 1903 vol 120 cc1233-4
SIR JAMES WOODHOUSE (Huddersfield)

To ask the President to the Board of Trade if he will state the total import of sugar in 1902, and when the Sugar Convention will again be brought under the consideration of the House.

(Answered by Mr. Gerald Balfour.) The total quantity of refined sugar imported into the United Kingdom in 1902 was 919,491 tons, and of unrefined sugar 658,909 tons. I am unable to answer the last part of the Question; perhaps the hon. Member will address a Question on the subject to the Prime Minister.
