§ MR. WEIRI beg to ask the Lord Advocate if he can furnish a Comparative Statement showing the number of cottars in the Island of Lewis at the time of the passing of The Crofters Act, 1886, and the number at the present time.
§ THE LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. A. GRAHAM MURRAY, Buteshire)A detailed Report on the social condition of the people of Lewis in 1901 as compared with twenty years ago, prepared by the Crofters Commission, was laid on the Table of the House last week, and will be circulated so soon as the printing is completed. The hon. Member will find information on the subject of his question in that Report, to which I hope he will allow me to refer him.
