§ * SIR CHARLES DILKE (Gloucestershire, Forest of Dean)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he can state the present position of the Army Reserve, and the effect on the numbers of the Reserve of the new proposals for the re-engagement of time-expired men.
§ MR. BRODRICKIt would be very misleading to give any figures at the present moment, as many men are on furlough and have not yet joined the Reserve. The number of men who have rejoined the colours is at present very small. I hope to have approximately accurate figures as to the condition of the Reserve at the beginning of December.
