HC Deb 13 May 1901 vol 93 cc1468-9
MR. PATRICK O'BRIEN

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether Rule 36 of the New Code, which says principal and assistant teachers in the service before the 1st April, 1900, will be awarded incomes under the new regulations, at least equal to their average emoluments under the old regulations from State sources for the three years ended on 31st March, 1900, is to be adhered to in the case of the thirty-eight teachers who had agricultural farms under the Board; and whether he will see that nothing is done which is not consistent with the promise made that no teacher is to suffer loss by the new changes.

THE CHIEF SECRETARY FOR IRELAND (Mr. WYNDHAM, Dover)

This matter is now engaging consideration in conjunction with the Treasury.
