HC Deb 29 April 1901 vol 93 c66
MR. THOMAS O'DONNELL (Kerry, W.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware of the fact that steam trawlers have been trespassing inside the legal boundary in Dingle Bay and along the coast of Kerry, causing damage to the fishing industry; and whether he will take steps to prevent any such occurrence in future.

MR. WYNDHAM

I am not aware that there has been any illegal trawling in these waters since February and March, when three trawlers were prosecuted and fined. The activity of the Department, it may be added, is exhibited by the fact that there have been fourteen prosecutions leading to convictions during the past six months. Two other prosecutions are pending.
