HC Deb 10 May 1900 vol 82 cc1249-50
MR. PICKERSGILL (Bethnal Green, S. W.)

I beg to ask Mr. Attorney General whether his attention has been called to the fact that on Saturday, 21st April, Miss A. J. Beatty, upon her application for medical treatment at King's College Hospital, was refused admission; and whether the authorities of this public institution are bound to afford relief to suitable applicants for medical treatment without discrimination.

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL (Sir ROBERT FINLAY, Inverness Burghs)

It is, I believe, the fact that Miss Beatty was refused admission at King's College Hospital. As far as I know, there is no legal obligation on such institutions to admit any particular individual.
