HC Deb 10 May 1900 vol 82 c1250
MR. BARTLEY (Islington, N.)

I beg to ask Mr. Attorney General whether his attention has been called to the largely increased charges in small mortgages occasioned by the fees under the Land Transfer Act; and whether he proposes to take any action in the matter.

SIR ROBERT FINLAY

The officials of the Land Registry have been communicated with, and I am informed they do not know to what increased charges the hon. Member refers. If he will give me further information, I shall be happy to cause full inquiry to be made into the matter.
